Consolidated Container Company Dedicates the Roger C. Panella Engineering & Development Center
ATLANTA, Ga. - January 5, 2004 -- Consolidated Container Company (CCC) dedicated its new Roger C. Panella Engineering and Development Center in Atlanta today. The center is a cutting-edge facility for the design, development, manufacture and testing of blow molded plastic containers. The center was named in honor of the Roger C. Panella. Panella, who passed away on January 17, 2003, was the founder of Double R Enterprises, which is one of CCC's antecedent companies. CCC's R. Keith Brower, Senior Vice President of Operations, Services & Procurement said, "CCC dedicated the Center in Panella's name to honor his extensive, groundbreaking work and his contribution to the blow molding industry. He was a great friend and contributor to CCC, and we felt that this was an appropriate way to honor his life and his work." Panella is survived by his wife, Sandy, and his son and daughter, all of whom attended the opening along with members of the CCC corporate staff and the Center's 28-member technical staff.
The facility was created to provide world-class innovation and development services to CCC's customers. The Panella Center operates a totally modernized design and product development studio, a materials and product laboratory capable of all elements of testing both bottles and component materials, a multi-line pilot plant with bottle production capabilities in a variety of resins with a wide range of manufacturing technologies and the full spectrum of mold and material development activities.
Consolidated Container Company is a leading U.S. developer, manufacturer, and marketer of blow-molded rigid plastic containers for the beverage, consumer, and industrial markets.
